Another flawless trip with Cumberland I have just completed my 4th Charter with Cumberland (CCY). We feel like we have really nailed the itinerary over the years and this time we took Whitsunday Dreaming (40ft Lagoon powercat) out of Hamo for 9 nights. We had the last two nights on the Marina at Hamo so that we could enjoy the Island for a couple of days and celebrate ANZAC day at the dawn service followed by 2-up at the pub in the afternoon. We had 3 adults and 3 kids aboard which was perfect for the layout and amenities onboard. The whole team from reservations to operations and for us we had two skippers deliver and pick up the boat from Hamo were all awesome. The boat was beautifully presented and is fully equipped with the latest chart plotter, paper charts and of course the bible "100 magic miles" which makes navigation and operation a breeze for even the most inexperienced of masters/crew. I highly recommend CCY and would especially like to thank Mercedes, Indy, Jemma and Sharon as well as the friendly operations team. Special mention to Paul who was able to help us recover the Hamo Buggy key we left onboard (life saver). The region changes regularly so we can't wait to get back with a group of friends and explore some of the area's we didn't get to this time.

Brilliant holiday Absolutely brilliant, one of the best holidays ever. Cumberland Charter Yachts were incredible, 10/10 for service, reliability, value & personality. Trip of a lifetime Trip of a lifetime aboard Joy. 8 friends/brothers for a full week of sailing on this comfortable and modern catamaran. Our skipper - Cam - was a legend. Can’t recommend him enough. Got us the best moorings in the best spots, and avoided wind/weather when required. We were incredibly lucky to have had Cam guide us and I can’t imagine trying to navigate such a trip alone. Sailing The Whitsundays I just finished my fifteenth charter with Cumberland Charter yachts and once again it was amazing. I must start with a big thank you to Gemma, she was my first point of contact so helpful and informative always helpful and keeping me up to date with my charter. Also thank you to Sonya and Jordan for all their help during the briefing, a very thorough three hours which takes you through the safety aspects of your charter and covers all the important details of your yacht. And also again to Jordan for the debriefing a very talented young man. We charted BETTY an Excess 11 sailing catamaran (maiden voyage) and what a great boat it was. 4 double berths with 2 showers and toilets and a great setup in the interior, we had a crew of 7. I particularly loved the 2 helm stations set down by the cockpit which makes for a great socialising area and keeps the helmsman in touch with the rest of the crew. The self tackling head sail was fantastic and makes for easy sailing. The Whitsundays are a great place to sail and I would recommend Cumberland to start your journey. I’m in the process of organising my sixteenth charter (getting a crew together won’t be hard ) for 2025. Captain Cam, "Joy" the Saba 50, and an incredible experience with Cumberland We recently completed a week-long charter on the 50-foot cat, "Joy", with Cameron as our skipper, plus eight of us on board. With a little luck from the weather, we had an unforgettable experience thanks also to the expertise of Cam and the excellent service provided by Cumberland. The yacht was in pristine condition, comfortable, spacious, and a pleasure to be on board, especially with the sails up and the engines off. To say Cam was a great captain would be an understatement and an injustice. Without Cam's local knowledge, skill, patience and planning, our trip would have been nowhere near as enjoyable or relaxing. He expertly planned our progress based on what we wanted to do and kept us constantly entertained with his honest but civil opinion of our music choices! Cam, we can't thank you enough mate. Everybody at Cumberland is friendly, positive and efficient. The booking process was easy and the information was both accurate & thorough. The Whitsundays Up Close They say that the best days you experience when owning a boat is the day you buy it and the day you sell it. Well, there is another way to extend this enjoyment and that is to hire one from Cumberland Charters at Airlie Beach. My six friends and I did just that recently and spent 6 glorious days exploring the Whitsunday Islands. For our skipper Hugh, this was his fourteenth trip with the company. That type of loyalty says it all. Our boat was the brand-new catamaran "Betsy" on its maiden charter. It had all we needed for an adventurous yet comfortable experience. Though our skipper was an experienced sailor, Cumberland's main concern is safety, and our package included a three-hour comprehensive briefing that focused on ensuring our trip would not only be memorable but would ensure we got back safely to our loved ones. Indeed, it also ensured that we could manage and enjoy the myriad facilities provided on board. Cumberland choose their Yachts well, and even though they come with the latest technology, they can easily be mastered by capable skippers of moderate experience. We were provided with daily weather briefings and again, to ensure our wellbeing, advice on the safest and best overnight moorings. We had few issues, if any, but we learned from monitoring the radio calls that when these problems did occur (mostly self-inflicted), Cumberland were quick to respond with a friendly demeanour and a satisfactory solution. This was my third trip, with some of my fellow sailors enjoying their fourth or fifth and we all definitely recommend Cumberland to anybody who seeks a wonderful adventure in this iconic location. Sailing the Whitsundays with Cumberland Yachts on Serenity Cumberland Charter Yachts have the most amazing staff. From the bookings with Rebecca who was patient and professional through to the operations , Simon, Les and Paul. Nothing was ever a bother and they were friendly and helpful. Priscilla met with us when we came back and was really interested in the experience and how the boat performed on the whole. Cumberland had a well stocked boat that was clean and everything oh working order. We could not get parts for the curtain rod so they kindly made a plan to get the curtain on. These amazing thoughtful things made our experience amazing. Our friends hired with another charter company and their experience was below average.
