Bareboat Charters
Embarking on a bareboat holiday is an exciting adventure, offering the freedom to explore pristine waters and idyllic destinations at your own pace. However, as with any travel experience, unforeseen circumstances can arise, from unexpected cancellations and medical emergencies to accidental damages or weather disruptions.

Personal Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is designed to protect you against unexpected events when you’re travelling. It can help with costs associated with events like illnesses and injuries, lost or stolen luggage and personal effects, cancellation fees and flight delays. You can purchase travel insurance through Topsail Insurance or contact your preferred insurance provider.
Taking out appropriate travel insurance is essential to safeguard your trip, providing peace of mind and financial protection against potential risks ensures you can focus on creating unforgettable memories, knowing you’re covered if the unexpected occurs.
Vessel Damage Waiver
A non-refundable damage waiver of $55.00 per night is charged to cover minor loss or damage (excluding a grounding) to the vessel or its inventory. All our vessels are covered under insurance to protect the owner of the vessel against loss or damage to the vessel and its equipment. Please be aware any structural damage or damage causing the vessel to be unseaworthy while on charter will require the vessel to be returned to base for assessment and repair. This could result in the termination of the charter with no reimbursement of charter fees.
Damage waiver does not cover blocked toilets or additional cleaning costs. If you have blocked the toilet you will need to return to base to have the blockage cleared or additional cleaning fees charged if the vessel is left in an unsatisfactory condition.
Grounding Bond
At Cumberland Charter Yachts, we aim to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all our guests. As part of this, we require a valid credit or debit card for a pre-authorization of $2,500 on the morning of your departure. This pre-authorization acts as a security deposit and provides peace of mind for both you and us.
The grounding bond covers potential damages such as a grounding or incidents that may occur during your charter. Rest assured, this is a standard procedure, and the pre-authorized amount will not be charged to your card unless necessary. Once the vessel is returned in its original condition and the hull dive checked, the pre-authorization is released, typically within a few business days, depending on your bank’s processing times.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain our fleet to the highest standards, ensuring a memorable and worry-free holiday in the Whitsundays
