Throughout the 74 odd Islands of the Whitsundays there are hundreds of anchorages available to yachties. These anchorages range from Blue Pearl Bay on Hayman Island in the north, Cateran Bay on Border Island in the east and down to Goldsmith Island in the south. There are coves suitable for fishing, reefs that are great for diving and heaps of secluded spots just for you and your favourite person. But what will YOU do??

We suggest that you and the crew sit down and discuss what you would like to see and do during your holiday. You can fish, bush-walk, resort hop or be romantic. Below we have a suggested 7 night itinerary that would show you all of the beauty of the Whitsundays. Your itinerary will be discussed at length during your briefing – this will give you some ideas….

Example Itinerary:

Day 1:

Depart Coral Sea Marina, travel to Nara Inlet

Arrive at Cumberland’s base at Coral Sea Marina. Check in at our office (Shop 18) and we can loan you a trolley to load all luggage, food and anything else needed for your cruise.

Your briefer will take you to the dive shop to collect your complimentary snorkeling gear.

After a thorough briefing on the area and the vessel (approximately 3 – 4 hours) you’re ready to take off!!

Watch the mainland disappear as you cruise across the glorious Whitsunday Passage to overnight at the fjord-like Nara Inlet. Nara is protected from all winds and is an excellent first night introduction to your vessel. Proceed into the anchorage, refering to the 100 Magic Miles for entry to the inlet.  Drop anchor and enjoy nature at its best as the sun sets on your first day.

Did you know…

Nara Inlet is a snug safe anchorage with significant Whitsunday historical interest. Not only is this an Aboriginal landmark but also renowned for the noteable vessels which have frequented the inlet over the years.

After significant rain, waterfalls flow at the deepest part of the inlet.

Make time to visit the cave paintings, at the site you can enjoy a short stroll along the route’s interpretive signage, rest under the shade of pine trees and listen to the Dreamtime stories.

Hot Tip!
Avoid first day frustration and get on the water sooner.
Have your crew organised and your shopping done. Put a DVD on for the children or take them for a swim at the Airlie Lagoon. We only need two adults for the briefing.
