Island Resorts

Located in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef on the Queensland Coast, lies 74 islands of the Whitsundays. The majority of them are uninhabited national park islands with four of the islands offering resort accommodation. Your bareboating holiday is just the beginning. After you arrive at your first overnight anchorage you now have to decide what you’d like to see and do!!  Resort hopping is a popular past time in the Whitsundays and Cumberland Charter Yachts’ vessels are welcome to visit them. Why not drop in for a while and experience the gourmet delights or a tropical cocktail by the pool or have a relaxing massage. Each resort has its own little piece of magic for you to discover.

Long Island

Long Island is the closest island to the mainland, and as suggested by the name, is 9km long while only being 400m wide at its widest point! Long Island is mostly national park and has 13km of walking trails to explore the plentiful native flora and fauna on this dramatic natural landscape. Surrounded by secluded bays and expansive coral fringing reefs great for snorkeling and beachcombing, Long Island is a quiet paradise for visitors seeking seclusion and tranquility.

Palm Bay Resort

Palm Bay Resort is a beautiful boutique resort nestled in the neck of Long Island with their very secluded private cove, the resort offers spacious Balinese inspired villas. It is the only self-catering resort in the Whitsundays offering guests a fully equipped kitchen to prepare meals.

Moorings are available on application should you wish to access the resort facilities.

Guests are requested to respect the resort philosophy of privacy and intimacy. Smart casual attire must be worn

Daydream Island

Part of the Molle Group of Islands, Daydream Island (West Molle Island) is the home to the resort. This is the only resort in the Molle group, as sadly South Molle Resort is closed for renovation. There are 4 private moorings on the eastern side of the island for vessels up to 11.5m/38ft. Moorings can be hired for up to 8 hours or overnight. There is a per person landing fee should you wish to go ashore and use the resort facilities.

Daydream Island Resort

Following an extensive redevelopment, Daydream Island Resort now offers 277 modern rooms, an expanded food and beverage offering across the island with three restaurants and three bars, a revitalised pool, poolside bar and the much loved Living Reef.

Hamilton Island

Guests are welcome to book a berth in the marina and use the resort facilities. Day and overnight rates for berths are available. We recommend booking your berth in advance to avoid disappointment. During race week (August) the marina is closed to visitors. A berth over Christmas and New Year is approx. $300.00 per night.

Hamilton Island Resort

The largest of the Whitsunday Island resorts, Hamilton Island offers over 60 activities, has a number of bars and restaurants, retail outlets and a variety of water sports and tours to experience. Located on the marina side of the island is the marina village precinct, offering everything from a newsagency, IGA supermarket and bottle shop and retail outlets, while the opposite of the island is where you will find all the resorts, accommodation, and Catseye Beach.

Get active with some go-kart racing or a jet ski tour, cuddle a koala at the wildlife park, or tee off with a round of golf on the island’s very own 18-hole championship course, located on neighboring Dent Island.
